Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Representation Survey!

Because I try to make my work center the experiences of marginalized people as much as possible, it’s important to me to collect feedback on how I’m doing. I’m a proud member of multiple marginalized communities, but I don’t represent us all, and I don’t belong to all the groups I try to portray in my work! I’d love to hear your thoughts about how I’m doing: areas that need improvement, things you’d like to see, things you hated, things you loved, suggestions for future things to include– all of it! 💖

Notes

You are more than welcome to submit your feedback anonymously if you wish, so please don’t feel pressured to provide your name or contact info if you don’t want to! I would definitely rather hear your anonymous thoughts than not at all 💖

All of the questions about identity in this survey are designed more like prompts rather than required questions. Please share as much or as little as you feel comfortable answering and feel free to skip any that you wish 💖

Obligatory Legal Disclosure

For legal purposes, I need to make sure we both know and agree about how these replies will be used. This survey is designed to ensure that I include more accurate and diverse representations of people who face marginalization and who lack representation in media. It’s also designed to provide a space for people to speak with me about any complaints or positive remarks someone may have about specific instances or themes in my work. It’s not designed for me to take credit for ideas or concepts.

Please avoid sharing any story ideas, specific concepts, and other things that can potentially be construed as intellectual property. This survey is about soliciting your general thoughts only.

For example, please feel free to tell me something like, “I would like to see more people with the kind of facial difference I have” or “I would like to see you make more fantasy pieces with queer love as a theme.” Please avoid things such as, “I would like to see a nonbinary mage making potions in a garden” or providing sample scripts for comics.

Any specific concepts and ideas such as these examples will be immediately disregarded.
