More Comics Please! is a space for comic book reviews: think of it like a friend telling you about their latest read!
How More Comics Please! Works
At least once a month, I’ll upload a comic review and how I read it: a physical copy I have, a digital copy I own, an app-based comic, or a Libby-borrowed book*. My aim is to geek out a bit and encourage you to join in with whatever format works best for you and to experiment with new ways of reading comics that maybe you haven’t tried before!
I love comics in all kinds of formats: trade paperbacks, manga, single issues, graphic novels, webtoons, zines, digital– all of it! So these comic reviews will reflect that, especially my favorite category of all: indie graphic novels. I hope you’ll find yourself itching to get your hands on some more of these jewels.
(By the way, if you’re new to comics terminology and feel a little lost, feel free to check out my page Comic Book Terms and Definitions for some help!)

More Comics Please! Rating System
More Comics Please! is going to have a rating system of speech bubbles, the highest being five speech bubbles out of five. The lowest will be zero out of five speech bubbles. While I’ll take into account everything I write about in the review, this is what I would say if someone asked me if I recommend it. Here’s how the ranking works:
0/5 Speech Bubbles: I actively hate this comic and recommend avoiding it
1/5 Speech Bubbles: I didn’t like this comic and wouldn’t recommend it
2/5 Speech Bubbles: I didn’t enjoy this comic as much as I’d like but would still say give it a shot
3/5 Speech Bubbles: This was a good comic; I’d recommend it!
4/5 Speech Bubbles: This was a really good comic; you should definitely check it out!
5/5 Speech Bubbles: One of the best comics I’ve ever read, and I want everyone to read this immediately so we can talk about it!
Get Involved!
I’d love for you to share these comic book reviews with your friends and anyone you know looking for a good comic to read! I love being able to support comic book creators, and I encourage sharing reviews as an easy way to drive interest. Those royalty fees from ongoing sales make a difference for comic creators!
I also love to get people into comics, too, and would love for these reviews to get more people interested in comics. They’re such a great and accessible medium, and I want the world to revel in the joy that text and illustrations together can bring!
I’d also love to have your participation in the comments! Agree or disagree with a review? Share away! Haven’t read it but on your way now to get it? Let me know! Got a comic you think I’d love? Point me in the right direction! Got a comic you made that’s coming out soon? Definitely let me know!
Comics are the most fun when we get excited about them together, so I look forward to hearing from you!
The best way to make sure you get to see posts from More Comics Please! when they go up is to sign up for my newsletter Into the Bramble where I’ll be sure to share the latest reviews with you. You can also follow me for free or as a Patron on Patreon!
Thanks so much for reading! 💖
With love,
Jessi
Libby
*If you haven’t heard of Libby, I’m so excited for you! You’re about to find a whole new world of access to comics and books in general, including audio books.
Libby is a free app that partners with your local library to lend you digital copies of books and audiobooks. You simply pair your library card with the app, and then you can start browsing and borrowing! Pretty easy, right?
If you’re interested in borrowing from other libraries outside of where you live, a few libraries allow non-residents, both inside and outside the US, to access their collection by paying a fee.
Libby has been a game changer for me and so many readers I know, and it’s especially helpful for those like me who struggle to remember to return books on time or have mobility or health issues that prevent us from going to the library in person.
More Comics Please! probably wouldn’t be possible without Libby. I genuinely love this app, and I recommend it basically every chance I get. I’d love for you to check it out and give it a try! Have fun!
